Message from the Founding Chairman
Having founded the San Francisco Civic Organization, Inc. (SFCOI) many years back, today, we take pride as we reminisce its humble beginnings as an organization. Although it has branched out and extended significantly with its various chapters, the keyword is still one and the same: SERVICE.
Today, as we move on to greater heights, we post a challenge to the new officers and members of the SFCOI to continue the legacy of reaching out to all of our "kababayans" through notable programs and projects geared to the uplifment of the lives of every San Franciscan/Aurorahin.
Our Patron Saint, Saint Francis of Assisi, once said that "It is in giving that we receive, it is in dying that we are born." Grounded on this belief, may all of us be instruments to become agents for social change and societal transformation.
We urge our "kababayans" both here and abroad for full support and to partake in all of our endeavors through meaningful participation and support, so that we may be able to fully realize our vision-mission for San Francisco.
In behalf of the past officers, we applaud the new members and officers, and wish you all the best as you continue to aflame the fire of love and service for others through the San Francisco Civic Organization, Inc. We also encourage the youth to actively participate in all our notable programs.
"To those who are fortunate, support more and to others cooperate more."
May Almighty God bless us all..
Mabuhay po kayong lahat!
An Appeal to All Our Kababayans In The Philippines and Abroad
Greetings to All!
Through this medium, we would like to bring to the knowledge of all our Kababayans and their families here in the Philippines and abroad that the San Francisco Civic Organization, Inc which is a non-profit, non-stock, non-political and non-sectarian organization has been revived this year 2008. It was organized and registered on August 31, 1989 with Engr. Dante L. Fornesa as its president.
The primary purpose for which the organization was organized was to promote the best interest and well-being as well as safeguard the welfare of the residents of San Francisco, Quezon. Secondly, to unite the people of San Francisco, Quezon for the purpose of exerting effective and beneficial influence upon matters affecting morals and to develop love and compassion among members towards the plight of the less fortunate members of the community.
Through the initiative and leadership of Norberto Naazon “Boboy” C. Ojastro, several “Aurorahins” in Lucena City, in Manila and in San Francisco were invited and showed interest in joining the organization. The monthly meetings started on June 28, 2008 wherein plans were formulated and finalized. The initial projects will be gift-giving this Christmas season, Medical and Dental mission, Adopt-a-school program and tree-planting project.
Other proposed projects are feeding program for malnourished pupils in underprivileged schools, and livelihood programs for unemployed in identified areas.
These programs and projects would not come to realization if there are no funds to finance them.
It is in this light and context that we are appealing to all our Kababayans who are residing in the different parts of our country and in the different countries to share their blessings to the less fortunate families in our municipality.
Let’s unite our hearts and minds and take pride in being a loving and compassionate “Aurorahin”. All of the Aurorahins are invited and encouraged to come home on April, 2010 for the grand homecoming for a Cause. This would be a wonderful and meaningful gathering of all Kababayans who are residing abroad and in the different towns and provinces.
You will surely be surprised and amazed of the marked improvements and remarkable changes in our municipality when it comes to infrastructure and business.
However, during the past two years the municipality experienced severe typhoon damages, which caused economic instability and poverty to the unemployed residents. Health problems and illnesses, crimes, accidents and other untoward incidents and misfortunes are also causes of burden to our “Kababayans” that need to be resolved through the help of the governments, non-government organizations and civic-spirited citizens.
Nowadays that almost everyone is affected by the economic crisis due to the high cost of living, soaring prices of prime commodities and transportation costs, we should be one in spirit to help everyone to withstand the test of time.
Reiterating the call for unity, cooperation and compassion, it is with high hopes that all our Kababayans will willingly and enthusiastically respond to the call.
Regards and warms wishes of good fortune and health for all.
